Marijuana FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Marijuana legalization is a relatively new thing in most states that have legalized it, including Missouri. As such, consumers have a number of questions about the product. At Latitude Dispensary, we’ve put together this guide to help you understand the legal marijuana market.

Yes. Medical marijuana was first legalized for medicinal use statewide in 2018, and recreational use in 2022.

According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, “A consumer may purchase up to 3 ounces in a single transaction, and be lawfully in possession of up to 3 ounces of dried, processed marijuana or its equivalent.” When considering what products in Missouri are equivalent to 3 ounces of flower, it’s crucial to know how the Missouri Marijuana Equivalency Units (MMEs) are calculated.

1 MME = 3.5g of flower OR 1g of concentrate OR 100mg of infused products (such as edibles)

Knowing this, we can assert that 3 ounces is equal to 24 MMEs, leaving room to mix and match a variety of cannabis products within the legal limit.

Only individuals 21 and over, or qualifying medical card holders, are permitted to purchase from a licensed dispensary. In compliance with state laws, you are required to provide a valid, state-issued photo ID upon entry.

Missouri has followed the same age requirements for marijuana that they have for alcohol, so consumers must be 21 years old to purchase the plant. Like other age-restricted purchases, dispensaries are required to check IDs and may lose their license if they fail to comply.

Yes, though there are some restrictions. To grow marijuana at home, you must be 21 or over AND obtain a Cultivation License from the state of Missouri. For compliant growing, all plants must be secured in an enclosed and locked structure. The marijuana you grow must be used for personal, non-commercial use only. Finally, you’re limited to the same 3-ounce legal limit as purchasers.

Terpenes are naturally occurring aromatic chemical compounds found in fruits and plants, such as cannabis, that determine the smell and flavor. Cannabis contains more than 150 types of terpenes, though most are present in only small amounts. The more prominent ones team together to give strains their individual scent profiles, and even have unique therapeutic and mood-altering properties. Determining the terpene profiles of your favorite strains can help you find what works best for your cannabis needs and preferences.

Cannabinoids are naturally occurring chemical compounds found in cannabis that produce specific effects when consumed, such as THC and CBD.

THCA is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in raw cannabis flower that, when introduced to heat such as while smoking or vaping, is converted to THC, producing the typical ‘high’ associated with marijuana consumption.
