How to Make Cannabis Weed Brownies with our Flower

Making a pan of weed brownies is a lot easier than you might expect. As long as you have about an hour to spare and a few basic ingredients, you’re all set. But you’re probably not going to get the effect you’re looking for tossing your favorite strain into a chocolatey batter and calling it a day.

How Cooking Butter Simplifies Brownie-Making   

Before adding cannabis flower or buds to brownie batter, you’ll need to break your cannabis into small pieces, remove any seeds or stems, and bake your weed in a covered dish for 40 minutes (or more) to convert its THCA to THC.

Once the heat from your oven decarbs your cannabis, you’re ready to move on to the next step: making cannabis-infused butter. 

It’s not difficult, but it does extend your time in the kitchen by at least another hour.

Our Recipe for Pot Brownies 

While you might initially be tempted to use a mix to make THC-infused brownies, baking from scratch gives you far more control over the quality of every ingredient. 

Before you start mixing and measuring, preheat your oven to 350°F and grease an 8 x 8-inch baking pan. You’ll also need two medium-sized bowls, a hand mixer, and a spatula for the following recipe.

Ingredients  for Cannabis Brownies

2 large eggs

½ cup brown sugar

½ tsp vanilla extract

¾ cup granulated sugar

½ cup Cannabis Inc. Cooking Butter (or a blend of Cooking Butter and salted butter for less potent brownies).

½ to ¾ cup flour (using more flour makes cake-like brownies)

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

½ tsp salt

½ tsp baking powder

Instructions for Weed Brownies

Step 1 – Sift the flour, cocoa powder, sugars, salt, and baking soda into a medium-sized bowl and whisk until evenly combined. Set the bowl aside.

Step 2 – In a second bowl, use a hand mixer to cream the cooking butter and sugars until they’re light and fluffy.

Step 3 – Add your eggs and vanilla to the creamed sugar and beat the mixture on medium for one minute.

Step 4 – Add the contents from your bowl of dry ingredients to your moist batter and blend with your mixer set to a low setting until well combined.  

Step 5 – Pour your batter into your prepared pan and spread the mixture evenly with a spatula.

Step 6 – Place your pan on the center rack of your preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Special Cooking Notes:

To avoid over-baking your brownies, check their progress at the 25-minute mark by inserting a toothpick into the center. 

If the batter clings to the toothpick, continue baking until the toothpick comes out clean.

If you prefer a more fudge-like brownie, you can remove them from the oven when the toothpick emerges moist, but the coating has lost its batter-like consistency. Cool for 30 minutes. 

You can store your edibles in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days or freeze your brownies for up to 6 months.

If you’re making weed brownies for the first time, we suggest starting with a partial serving and waiting at least 60-90 minutes before deciding if you need more. The onset time is considerably longer for edibles than smoking or vaping because the THC is processed through your digestive system before it begins circulating through your bloodstream. 

Starting low and going slow minimizes the risk of feeling overstimulated, especially if it’s your first enjoying pot brownies.
